...is strange. It's funny how it works. Just when you think you have everything under control, it shows you otherwise. Regardless, you never stop trying...

I mostly write because although I've been meaning to update, I still only come here every few days, getting little accomplished when it comes to going through messages. However, I was shocked to find that several days ago, ~Flutterby727 passed away. As I said, although I've been pretty inactive--for the past couple years, at that--I still considered her a very close friend of mine. She was one of the first and closest friends I came to know on dA, and that feeling never faded despite not talking to her as often as I once did. And really, I'm not writing this to hear "I'm sorry," or anything...there's a lot more people on here, not even taking into account her family, who deserve to hear that much more than I do, someone who's barely been on to even talk to her recently. But it's just that that I regret and find ironic, because I was just thinking the other day about some things I wanted to talk with her about. But I didn't make the time. I rarely make the time for a lot of people.

And so I guess that's why I'm writing here...to get my thoughts down...and to try to make that commitment to my friends. I just find myself asking what is more important a lot of the time--that flawless A+, or an extra hour I can dedicate to friends. I guess this kind of answered it for me, though I wish it could have been answered another way.

So hold your friends close, everyone. Make time for them. When it comes to making sacrifices for lack of time, don't make them your sacrifice.
